LOUISE LEFEBVRE

Birth : Montréal.

Training : She completed with success a Bachelor’s Degree in Education at the University of Montréal in 1968 and in Visual Arts at the University of Québec in 1987. Attracted to paper, she practiced the arts of drawing, printing, collages, pastels before devoting herself to oil painting, using canvas …but never canvas alone. She covers part of the support with paper, incorporates wires, ropes, cardboards, linen fabrics with she paints all over.

Medium : Mixed.

Exhibitions : Many solo and group exhibitions since 1987 in Québec.

Collections : Private and corporate in Canada, Collection of the City of Laval, Bibliothèque et archives nationales du Québec; New-Brunswick Government Art collection and in the Unites States.

Associations : Member of the « Association Lavalloise pour les Arts plastiques » (ALPAP) and of the « Regroupement de Artistes en Arts Visuels » (RAAV).

Awards : The most recent prizes and awards are : Second prize, Annuelle des Arts, Maison Benjamin-Papineau, 2005 and First Prize in 2003; Artists’votes, L’Art de Mai, Maison Benjamin-Papineau, 2002; Highest Distinction, Gala International des Arts visuels 2000, Brancusi Center, Montréal.
