Like a blooming flower, she was born in the springtime of 1965 in the very picturesque city of Annecy, France.
She was raised in Italy until the age of 13, and now resides in the beautiful city of Montreal, Canada.
As a little girl in Italy, she painted in her father's studio, famous artist Littorio Del Signore, experimenting in different media and gaining experience through his guidance. This was a formative period in her life, and though it was playful at the time, she was developing a passion that would not blossom until much later. During her childhood in Italy, Sonia won numerous awards in Art Contests.
Her paths in life lead her to study Fine Arts and Fashion Design at LaSalle College. After graduation, she embarked upon a 13-year career in fashion design. But realizing that time waits no one, she has now dedicated her life to pursuing her most passionate ambition.
Sonia's art is very personal. It is inspired by modern art (particularly fauvism) and although figurative, her work embraces many of the fundamental elements of abstraction. It vibrates with vivivd and exotic color, and her figures are striking in their sensual expressions. Sonia describes her work as "window to her inner self," which "celebrates love, beauty and music, and through that, it celebrates life."
